With the support of ACC-MOWCAP—the National Asian Culture Center (ACC) and the UNESCO Memory of the World Committee for Asia and the Pacific (MOWCAP) small grant programme 2024—a mini audio-visual resource center was successfully established in August 2024. Two engaging film screenings, Hmone Nathar Chel Kar Tha Par Loh (1972) and Khine Marlar Hnin Si (1992), were organized and drew strong interest from film students and local audiences, fostering a deeper connection with Myanmar’s cinematic heritage. These two films were digitized from U-matic tapes, thanks to support from ACC, which had previously funded a project in 2019 to digitize the U-matic collection. The process of scanning our collection of flyers and posters has also begun, enhancing public access to these important visual materials. The center has already welcomed several film students and researchers, who have taken advantage of the opportunity to book sessions, view films, and explore the collection. Flexible booking options are available through Facebook Messenger, Viber, Telegram, and email.
